DIY project: Wedding flower-Part 1

After lingering for more than 2 moths, I finally finished my wedding flowers, They include my big 9-inches bridal bouquet, 4 boutonnieres for parents, 1 for maid of honor and 1 one for best man.

Real or Silk?

The whole process of deciding wedding flower is lengthy and tough. At the beginning, I felt strongly about using real flowers. I remember Sarah from CSI once said,"Can the love be real if the flowers are not?" Besides, I always thought silk flower is kinda cheap looking. However, the more research I did, the more my opinion has changed. I found people using silk flower in lots of circumstances. Those who get married during Winter time, those who has flower allergies or those who prefer to keep the bouquet as memory item later on will more likely to use silk flower.

It is true that some of the silk flower produces look cheap. But there are lots of high quality silk flower that are comparatively more expensive then real flowers. That really like up my hope (Not the expensive part, the real looking part I mean).

Real Touch Silk Roses

I went to some silk flower shop and Micheals in lower mainlands, I found a type of silk flower call real touch silk roses. They look like a real roses,  touch like a real roses. You can even see the vein on the roses like real one does. I immediately fell in love with these gorgeous flowers. Guess how much are they? $15.99CAD for 3 buds. It is CRAZILY expensive.  I dont even want to pay $400 for real flowers, these real touch silk flowers are absolutely out of my list!!!

This big price tag hasnt destroy my hope for finding high quality yet affordable silk flower. I went to Taobao.com again and search for these real touch silk flower. I found it! This seller actually made these flowers. He sell them for around $1.8CAD each steam. I order 50 of them. Including the shipping to Canada, I pay around $150CAD in total. It tooks almost 1.5 months to receive.
